Rarely do you discover an artist whose talent and artistic sensibilities simultaneously inspire you and piss you off. Andrew Heath, the Pop Culture Dynamo, is one of those artists.
Heath’s artwork can motivate you to want to create your own series of pop culture posters. Concurrently, his work can cause you to consider changing professions. He’s the Eric Clapton of pop culture pop art. We both love him and hate him for being so damn talented.
Andrew Heath’s designs capture a sense of fun a vibrancy not easily duplicated. He has a unique style of detailed minimalism. Suitably, Heath stands apart from other artists due to his refined subtlety. Soft gradients, halftone shading, and vintage grunge textures are juxtaposed with vivid colors. As a result, Andrew is able to create absolutely stunning pieces of pop culture praise.
However, what truly puts Andrew Heath on a higher tier of designers is his ability to create unique and intriguing visual layouts. His compositions make amazing use of balance and negative space. Heath knows exactly where he wants to lead your eye. Consequently, no area of Andrew’s art goes unnoticed.
The combination of the amazing use of space, keen use of texture and selective detail, and striking color palettes are the perfect storm that makes Andrew Heath a digital artist to keep an eye on for years to come.
You can take a closer look at several of his amazing designs in his first book, Pop Culture Dynamo, a collection of highlighted work from 2011 to 2015.

ARTIST BIO: Andrew Heath is a graphic designer and illustrator from the horse crazed, bourbon fueled land of Kentucky. Growing up in the western part of the state, he developed a love for art at an early age, mainly copying the pictures out of comic books. It’s not until high school where his interest in music inadvertently led him to the discovery of graphic design – by way of concert posters. From there, he moved to Lexington to study at the University of Kentucky, where in 2012, he received his Bachelors of Arts. After a lengthy stint at a corporate greeting card company, he decided to hang up his figurative tie and tackle the world of freelancing where he’s been ever since. Andrew still resides in Lexington with his wife, Shelley and their cleverly named cat, Kitty.
