Best eCommerce Sites of 2018

Ecommerce websites can be a real kick in the dick.

Things like security and usability are always a primary concern when both designers and developers begin creating an eCommerce website.

Very rarely do the big dicks of the online shopping industry perform major redesigns and for good reason.

A website like Amazon is the perfect example. The last time those lazy pricks rolled out a major redesign, Jeff Bezos still had hair.

They have customers who use their website consistently and even sometimes on a daily basis.

After using a website so many times, getting to where you want to buy becomes second nature. If you change how things function or where certain things are, you risk decelerating the buying process and possibly losing sales.

Not only that but eCommerce sites also typically have an enormous amount of pages and files.

Fucking one file or line of code could be devasting to your business.

Because of this, mad respect should be given to those companies who see the importance of keeping a modern user interface and overall web design.

The Difficulties of Designing for eCommerce Websites

Obviously, because of security and the buying process, developing eCommerce sites is always an enormous task.

Designing a store with shopping abilities is no easy feat either.

On sites like Dribbble and Behance, you’ll see plenty of beautifully designed eCommerce sites or individual store items.

While the individual shot may look great, most of them would be absolutely terrible at converting.

In the end, you want your online shop to be as easy as possible for users to buy your shit. Even relatively simple elements like animation, page transitions, or even a decent amount of white space are rarely seen when it comes to eCommerce web designs.

The reasoning is simple: sellers want their buyers getting from point A to point B as quickly as possible.

There are a million other factors to consider when building your eCommerce website, but I’m sure none of you give a shit about this – you’re here to see some sexy designs.

Most of the designs we chose were based on the following factors:

  • Simple yet pleasant shopping and buying experience
  • Aesthetics of the store page and individual product pages
  • The overall design of the homepage

Obviously, we are only halfway finished with 2018, so it is a bit early to be judging the best for the entire year, so make sure to bookmark this page as we will be continually updating this list as the year goes.

As someone who very rarely drinks coffee, I find people who need to constantly need to discuss coffee to be super fucking annoying. Many coffee companies give off a pretentious impression, so very rarely do I give credit to anyone in the industry.
