Animated logos are a growing trend in the design and branding world. Social media platforms are increasingly allowing pages to add an animated profile or cover photo/video. Apps with an animated logo launch screen are ever-more becoming a necessity. Almost every television and internet commercial features an animated logo at the end.
Most importantly, animated logos allow for yet another facet of branding that can express your company or organization’s personality. Sometimes, all you need for a good logo animation is a strong concept and some subtle effects. Other times, a creative and unique animation style sets a motion logo apart.
However, one thing always remains consistent with good-quality animated logos: They adhere to at least one of the 12 Principles of Animation. Animated logos are quickly becoming as relevant to a company’s brand as the still logo and brand colors.
Everyone knows Netflix’s subtle-and-stylish “bum-bum” logo animation. Google took logo animations to an entirely different level with Google Doodles. Hell, even Ghostbusters II had an animated logo.
Therefore, if you are a designer of any kind who hasn’t at least dabbled in a little bit of After Effects or Adobe Animate, now might be the time to do so. Launching a program and diving into the first tutorial you can find may be beneficial for you, but one of the best things you can do when learning animation is to study what makes your favorite animated logos so amazing!
I know what you’re thinking. “If you keep telling me about “amazing” animated logos without showing me any, I’m going to straight-up lose my shit.” I get it. I’m too wordy. You’re too pressed for time. Let’s make with the logos already!
We’d like to thank you for checking out this amazing list of animated logos the only way we know how…by using someone else’s artwork!
