WRITTEN BY: Roger McDonald

Have you ever been working on a project and thought to yourself “How many more ways can I draw a freaking eagle?” This situation is an all-too-common problem when creating animal logo designs.

Everyone wants a unique logo. A common trend is for businesses to pick an animal to help embody the company’s spirit. However, this is easier said than done. Animal logo designs can be some of the trickiest to get right.

What style should you use? How abstract should it be? How can I make this distinct from other logos of its kind? These are the questions that drive designers crazy. Nonetheless, we creatives endure and enjoy the torture of taking something familiar and making it unique.

Still, we know how difficult it can be to get creative juices flowing. As a result, designers find themselves stuck thinking inside specific boxes. Some designers force themselves to do creative challenges, like the 36 Days of Type, but we know you don’t have time for that.

You’re too busy overthinking your animal logo designs. Overthinking something can often cause a designer to overlook simple, smart, and creative solutions to design problems.

Therefore, if you’re working on an animal logo design and can’t fathom coming up with another variant whale shape, don’t fret.

Here’s a list of 40 fantastic animal logo designs to help inspire creativity!

14. “Octopus” by Alfrey Davilla

Some might think that there should be a limit to how many times an artist can appear on a given list, but I disagree. I scoured Dribbble’s best animal logo designs to find logos of all different shapes and styles, but Alfrey Davilla‘s name just kept showing up. This octopus logo and its variations are gorgeous.

18. “Craen Clothes” by Mykola Striletc

This Japanese crane logo by Mykola Striletc is one of my favorites on this list. A simple stamp-pattern can quickly end up looking generic, but the bold lines and gritty textures make Craen Clothes stand out.

19. “Perkse Logo” by Brian Rau

Look at me; I’m king of the whales! This design by Brian Rau uses a beautiful color palette and simple typography, but it’s the teardrop mark that lets this whale of a logo design make a splash! …Okay, sorry about the fish puns. I’ll try to…reel them in.

20. ” Eagle”  by Stevan Rodic

This design was just a work in progress, but I love the in-your-face attitude it has. Stevan Rodic’s splatter drawing of an eagle stands in stark contrast to his modern, sleek owl logo shown earlier in the list.

22. “Squid” by Deividas Bielskis

I wish I had a tech company just so I could come up with a squid-related pun and use this logo, but sadly, I do not. However, when it comes to animal logo designs, this squid design by Deividas Bielskis feels perfectly modern and trendy.

23. “Octopus Mark” by Alexander Tsanev

While on the topic of cephalopods, this symmetrical octopus mark by Alexender Tsanev has me swimming in a sea…the jealou-sea! I don’t know what it is with me and fish puns, but I can’t kelp myself. One might say I’m seasick.

Kakha Kakhadzen’s deer design feels warm and relaxing thanks to a gorgeous sunset gradient. However, it’s bold use of thick negative-space line art gives this logo a proud and dignified feeling.

30. “Bird Logo” by Roden Dushi

Call me crazy, but I might like this bird logo design by Roden Dushi better than Twitter’s newest re-design! This design does have smaller details, but the stylization and bold color palette give this design its wings! (We’ve moved on to airborne puns, now, I guess…)

31. “Lion Logo” by Yoga Perdana

This lion logo is Yoga Perdana’s second design to make this list, but it stands in stark contrast to his watercolor bear logo. Regarding animal logo designs, this one is about as simple and modern as you can get, yet you can still readily recognize it as a lion.

32. “Swan Logo” by Irvan Pratama

Flat, simple, and sleek seem to be a common theme in modern logos, but that didn’t stop Irvan Pratama from making this Letter S Swan logo unique and eye-catching!

 33. “Cat” by Kakha Kakhadzen

Artist Kakha Kakhadzen is at it again, but this time with an ultra-modern and super-sleek line art drawing of a cat. It’s so simple, but it is most definitely one of my favorites on this list!

38.  “Banouk” by Ryan Feerer

We’ve had lions, tigers, and bears (oh my!), but this simple and effective Banouk bear mark by Ryan Feerer may be my favorite of the bunch. It’s extremely minimal, yet very effective.

39.  “Forgotten Creek Farm” by Mark Farris

Mark Farris captured the vintage stamp style with this bold bull logo design for Forgotten Creek Farm. These logo marks are simple with subtle textures, yet still retains a level of detail that keeps your eye interested.

40.  “Paw Funder Inc.” by Alfrey Davilla

Wave the checkered flag, because we have ourselves a winner! This list could go on forever, and Alfrey Davilla and Steven Rodic would continue battling it out like an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object.

However, my fingers are getting tired, so the final logo on our list will crown Alfrey as being mentioned the most in our list of animal logo designs. Congrats, Alfrey!

To be fair, he sort-of cheated. Look how cute the puppy and the kitty look, all snug in their little logo bubble! How could I say no to that?
