This month’s best web designs showcase a wide range of websites designed by individuals and agencies around the world.
With the creative industry continuing to rise at a phenomenal rate, web design trends seem to be changing more rapidly than ever.
A few years ago, using gradients popular choice. Then, flat design became the new fad, and it seemed like that was going to be the go-to style forever.
In our eyes, flat design was the first real trendsetter in the web design industry. Once designers started using flat color pallets, it helped modernize the creative industry.
Eventually, material design became the new trend which stood its ground almost as long as flat designs.
Although it seems like a lifetime ago, those two styles were the go-to trends are no more than a year or two old.
During those two periods, it was very rare to see a website not utilizing one of those two styles.
Nowadays, there are much more than just one or two styles to choose from to match the industry standard when it comes to web design. Naturally, everyone wants to design something unique, but most designers still incorporate some aspect of one of the popular trends in their designs.
ESPN is known for showcasing stunning graphics on their website and broadcasts, so it is no surprise they make sure their microsites are always designed beautifully. Their 10th annual Body Issue – like many of their previous issues – uses a minimal design that is ridiculously easy to use and showcases the stunning photography in a badass fashion.

Leaps of Faith’s website, while minimal, make the most out of what is displayed. The focal point of the home page is an excellent slider with beautiful transitions and animations. The interior pages also feature some badass page transitions and scroll animations.

KNNOX’s website states, “KNNOX lighter has been designed to deliver a new appreciation for light”. Their lighters are some of the coolest we have ever seen and will be available in just a few weeks.
The KNNOX website is an eCommerce-focused site built on WordPress/WooCommerce. What really makes their web design stand out is the stunning photography used to showcase their products.
Another badass microsite for ESPN, this one showcases ESPN’s rankings for the players in this year’s World Cup. Much like the Body Issue website, the WC Player Rankings site utilizes a minimal design with a badass slider (built with Greensock’s TweenLite script).
Sticking with the World Cup theme, On the Plane is a World Cup encyclopedia designed and developed by Mud; a web design agency in the UK.
On the Plane gives details on every team in WC2018. One of the coolest features is the background pattern used to match each teams’ jerseys.
